Michael Ofstedahl Photography About

Welcome to Michael Ofstedahl Photography.

Michael is a fine art photographer based out of Edmonton Alberta Canada. Michael studied commercial art while in school learning concept and design of advertisement in many different mediums. Mostly self taught, photography was the one medium that Michael took hold of and learned to master. Michael is inspired by many other artists and photographers such as Peter Lik, Art Wolfe and wildlife artist Robert Bateman.

Michael has been published in Canadian Geographic magazine, The Edmonton Journal and National post. While Michael's true passion is landscape and seascape photography, he has also photographed many musicians for promotional and marketing material.

"To me photography is my yoga, my Zen place. I find it relaxing. There is nothing like waking up at 4am and heading out into the wild and hearing the sounds of nature while getting a great shot."

Michael is pleased to bring his first show to the Jake Lewis Gallery and celebrate the last decade of his photography with the public. Michael will introduce a large collection of photographs featuring Hawaii, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Vancouver Island, southern and northern Alberta and the Rocky Mountains.

"These photos will be mostly large format and framed with luxury in mind. I wanted to bring photos that offered dramatic skies, bold features and stunning colours. I can not wait for people to see them up close. I only printed one set of these photos and they will be for sale. I will not print hundreds of prints, these will be print on demand and personally signed with a certificate of authenticity,"

Michael's photo's will be on display through November 2016 at the Jake Lewis Gallery at Jakes Frame Shop in Edmonton.
